There was a time when artificial intelligence was merely science fiction, but it has now seeped into how we live our lives, from driving directions to music suggestions or even ordering food.
As the use of AI continues to expand, the folks at ZipHealth wanted to learn how much trust people put into it for their most personal concerns.
The online pharmacy surveyed 1,000 people (54% male, 44% female and 2% non-binary with 40 being the average age of respondents) and got some surprising insight into how AI plays a role in relationships, whether it’s about diagnosing sexual health issues to replacing human companionship.
About 25% of respondents said they would be comfortable if their partner was intimate with a sex robot modelled after themselves. Men in particular were mostly fine with the idea with 69% more comfortable with it than women.

That said, 20% of those surveyed said they would consider it cheating if they caught their partner being intimate with a sex robot — even one that was designed after themselves — with nearly a quarter (23%) of women were more likely than men to call their partner a cheat if they were intimate with a sex robot.
A small percentage (7%) of respondents said they would choose AI companionship over a human if it could perfectly simulate love and affection, while an even smaller amount of people surveyed (2%) admitted they have developed feelings for an AI chatbot or companion.
Of those surveyed, 14% said they would rather confide in an AI chatbot about intimate issues than talk to their partner about them. And while about 10% of respondents said they have used ChatGPT for diagnosing or managing a health condition like erectile dysfunction, about 60% of respondents said they would trust an AI tool over a doctor to diagnose ED.
While we are on the topic of sex health, about 10% of respondents revealed they would trust AI more than their partner’s opinion about their sexual performance or health.
